Cotton to Cloth: The Woven Base

What is the undyed, assembled woven cotton cloth called before the dyeing process begins — and roughly how wide is each woven strip?
The plain undyed cloth is called fini. Each woven strip produced on the narrow horizontal strip loom is roughly 5–6 centimeters wide. Multiple strips are sewn together side by side to form the full cloth panel.
